Cabo gives you
several options, from a short, 5 min. boat ride out to the point where
the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean, or by land and then a short
boat ride out to Cabo Pulmo.
In addition to tons of fish and possible sea lion encounters at the
point, check out the “sand falls” - sand cascading
off steep ledges into the (very) deep water. These are better
later in the year as is the water temperature, which varies from a
chilly 58 F/ 14 C (as late as end of May) up to the high 70s F / 25 C later
in the year. To see these, you'll be diving in 70 - 100 ft depths.

Cabo Pulmo is a sleepy town about 2 hrs by car north of Cabo and it has
some
great diving, no surface vessels to worry about (unlike Pelican Rock or
the Point at Cabo San Lucas). Here, you have a chance of
diving with Whale sharks and if not, your attention will be kept with
tons of fish, rays, puffer fish and Moray eels. Several
companies
in Cabo San Lucas offer all inclusive trips up there, so there's no
need to rent a car.
